The High-Pressure Test

We are proud to guarantee that our products will definitely meet the pressure tolerance marked on our valves.

In the entire market, our company's products are certainly not the cheapest, on the contrary, our prices are slightly higher than some of its peers. The most important reason is that we are unwilling to reduce costs by reducing valve performance.

However, before you request a high-pressure test, please consider whether this test is really necessary. In most application scenarios, high-pressure gas is not used.

According to API 598, the valve needs to be tested for gas leakage before leaving the factory.

A. The backseat test is required for all valves that have the backseat feature, except for bellow seal valves.
B. When an “optional” test is specified by the purchaser, the test shall be performed in addition to the required tests.
C. The high-pressure closure test of resilient-seated valves may degrade subsequent sealing performance in low-pressure service
D. For power-operated and manually operated gear actuated globe valves, including nonreturn type globe valves, the high-pressure closure test shall be performed at 110% of the design differential pressure used for sizing of the operator.
E. A high-pressure closure test is required for all valves specified to be double block and bleed (DBB) valves, unless specified otherwise by the purchaser
F. For lubricated plug valves, the high-pressure closure test is mandatory and the low-pressure closure test is optional.

Because the high-pressure gas test for some valves in API 598 is "Optional", many factories will reduce product quality to increase their profits. Although their products are marked as being able to withstand a pressure of 2000 psi, in fact they may not even be able to withstand 1000 psi.

We can carry out High-Pressure testing on all products before leaving the factory, and ship them after passing the test.

But please note that even if the valve can withstand the high-pressure test, this test will cause a certain degree of damage to the valve. This is why we generally do not recommend using this test.

We cannot sell the tested valve to others (because of minor damage), so please be sure to explain to us whether High-pressure testing is required.
